A webcam was installed near Mount Everest

German company Mobotix has set a new record, placing a webcam in the Himalayas to film the highest peak on Earth - Mount Everest. The room was located on Mount Kala Patthar, at an altitude of 5643 meters, where transmit HD images Mount Everest, which rises to 8848 meters.
Kala Patthar camera installed on webcam is located at the highest altitude, surpassing the record set by the camera located on top of Aconcagua in Argentina, located at 4389 meters altitude.
The webcam is solar powered and is designed to withstand harsh conditions on the top of Kala Patthar, where temperatures can reach values ​​of -30 degrees Celsius.
Camera operates between 6 am and 6 pm local time, images are updating every 5 minutes. Sequences captured by webcam will be used along with data recorded by the weather station on Mount Everest in a project studying climate change.
